RFID HF Smart Label Systems

Automatically identify, track and control movements through production and the warehouse

RFID using smart labels is well established for industrial applications for item tracking. It uses the same 13.56 MHz HF technology as smart cards.

Example The photograph shows a high bay truck, with a metal mount reader antenna between its forks, moving a pallet into a storage location.

The reader senses both location and pallet labels, and uses WiFi to tramsmit the codes to the warehouse management system in real time.

Using 13.56 MHz RFID

Successful RFID solutions depends on system design. Get the process right first and the rest will follow.

The rule of thumb is HF tags must come within 80 cm of the antenna. Gates and conveyors with antennae on either side can be up to 1.6 metres wide. Where there is a lot of metal around effective range comes down to about 50 cm.
