NiceWatch

Print labels from any software, any platform

NiceWatch automates label printing when it is not possible to write program code for complex applications, such as ERP and WMS, or multi-system environments, such as Unix or AS/400.

Operating as middeware on a PC, NiceWatch is an event-driven application capable of monitoring and detecting data in many different formats to trigger the start of label production.

Deployment is quick and easy, requiring no extensive knowledge or training.

Main Characteristics

• Enable printing from local or remote applications running within the network
• Trigger label printing with simple file drop on a shared disk (including data or commands)
• Connect with COM port devices (scale, barcode reader) using monitoring or polling
• Internet printing (POP3 e-mail, TCP/IP sockets)
• Data filtering (use existing reports, printer command files, etc.)
• Optional VB Scripting for advanced program control
• Can run as a service (no user login required) on Windows NT/2000/XP/2003

Data Detection

The standard trigger is to write text files or export databases from an ERP system or other application to a shared network drive.

The TCP/IP trigger option allows you to accept information via TCP/IP ports from other computers or devices on the network.

Other triggers include communication from serial port devices (e.g. bar code reader, scale) and monitoring POP3 mail accounts.

Cross application and cross platform printing

NiceWatch can process incoming data in a non-structured format (reports, printer command files, serial port and TCP/IP data, etc).

It has numerous filters to extract data for label printing, leaving the existing application entirely unmodified. NiceWatch includes XML data filters for seamless label printing integration with Oracle WMS and MSCA.
