How Sydney Hart make sure the right barcodes go on to their boxes at pack houses round the world

Sydney Hart is a supermarket category manager for Asda. 

Apples, pears and vegetables come in from pack houses in many countries, such as Chile, France, South Africa and the UK.

Requirement

To be efficient Sydney Hart have to label at source at the pack houses. 

The data on every box-end label must be accurate. The barcode, product description and weight have to be right.

Hart Worldwide (now Sydney Hart) came to Codeway for a system. They wanted to keep a central database and email any changes to the pack houses.

Solution

Codeway recommended Dolphin mobile computers from Hand Held Products and developed the software.

The system gave Hart an easy way to maintain product data at HQ andupdate terminals at pack houses.

Now packers simply scan a barcode check the description on the screen matches the product in the box.

Hart avoid costly problems at Asda by detecting errors at source.
