Plain N' Fancy Custom Cabinetry automate their Inventory Management and Tracking Operations

July 16, 2007 - Plain N' Fancy Custom Cabinetry has selected MobileFrame' to automate daily inventory management and tracking operations. Plain N' Fancy Cabinets uses some 8,500 parts in its manufacturing process that must be tracked to ensure timely completion of its products. Hundreds of individual parts go from sanding, into stain, enamel, then to top coat and touchup until all of the required parts reach final assembly. Manually tracking this inventory through all the different manufacturing operations is a time consuming and error prone process that can take up to 4 hours each morning and continues throughout the day as more parts are subject to rework as the day progresses. Prior to installing MobileFrame, an average of 200 parts were missing per day.

The MobileFrame solution implements electronic tracking of all parts used in the company's manufacturing process. Supervisors can review exactly where a particular item is in the manufacturing process, select that item on a handheld device and enter information to update the status of the item. As an example, if a front to a cabinet somehow fell off the production line and was taken back to sanding to be re-sanded, MobileFrame's software allows the sanding supervisor to click on that item, after clicking the item a screen displays a number of different options for that part. The supervisor can then enter any relevant processing information. This change is automatically updated on all of the other supervisors PDA's, alerting them that this part will be coming through their department soon and that its delivery status is "late". When that item reaches their department they can update its location and status, until it reaches final assembly. This process allows complete end-to-end management and tracking of all material items.

Plain N' Fancy Custom Cabinetry automated all of their inventory management and tracking operations on a single mobility platform without having to write a single line of code.

Plain N' Fancy Custom Cabinetry is a typical manufacturing operation that is faced with mounting costs. The ability to automate their inventory management and tracking operations, has provided real-time visibility of all materials and parts used throughout the manufacturing process, substantial savings and improved overall customer service.

CM Services automates Field Service Operations

June 26, 2007 - CM Services has selected MobileFrame to automate their field service operations. CM Services technicians receive the work orders assigned to them on their handheld devices and collect data about the job electronically instead of on paper forms. Once complete, the data collected in the field is automatically synchronized to their backend system when wireless or wired access becomes available. CM Services uses a Dispatch and Work Order Management System from S2000 Field Services called S2000Win, which is fully integrated to the MobileFrame platform.

CM Services automated all of their field operations on a single mobility platform without writing a single line of code. The MobileFrame software runs on Windows Mobile based PDAs and works in both wired and wireless modes. Previously, CM Service technicians collected data about their jobs on paper based forms, which required office staff to manually enter the data into S2000Win. This process was time consuming and inefficient and often resulted in delayed billing to their customers.

CM Services can now take a new phoned-in work order at the trouble-desk, enter it into their work order management system and have a technician receive the new work order on a mobile device in the field, all within a matter of minutes.

Technicians now have immediate access to equipment repair history, account notes, customer contact names, etc. for every customer they visit. Once a work order is complete, the customer receives an email with the work receipt attached as a PDF. This receipt includes a copy of the customer's electronic signature and a summary of the work completed. Management now has instant visibility to the status of work orders, labor spent per job, parts used reports and more, which allows them to make real time decisions about their operations using up to the minute, real time accurate data.

The successful deployment of CM Service's complex business and work order management system allows the company to eliminate any paper form from any department, such as installation reports, time cards, vehicle inspections and order entry.

Zippi Networks selects MobileFrame for 250,000 Mobile Franchisees Selling On EBay

June 14, 2007 - Zippi®Networks, the innovative force behind revolutionizing the EBay online selling process, has chosen MobileFrame to automate 250,000 Zippi Mobile Franchisees.

Many homeowners have surplus items they would like to sell, but are reluctant to take on the task of listing the items on EBay, responding to inquiries, packing and shipping goods that are sold, and then collecting payment from strangers via the Internet. Many casual sellers are overwhelmed by this prospect. As a result, their unwanted items continue to accumulate instead of being turned into usable cash. Zippi has developed a creative solution that enables sellers to realize cash for their surplus items without any of the headaches associated with selling the items on EBay by themselves. Zippi will send a representative to a seller's home to manage all aspects of the sale. Using a Motorola MC35 mobile computer, the Zippi representative will enter a description of the items offered for sale, photograph the items, post and scan a barcode on each item, record voice notes containing additional information, select the proper EBay category and collect the seller's signature. MobileFrame's wireless software allows Zippi to immediately post the items for sale on EBay. For all of these services, the seller only pays a small commission to Zippi out of the proceeds of the sale.

"Although a growing number of consumers continue to be fascinated by the EBay marketplace, we are consistently met with a sigh of relief that Zippi can picture, port and sell items on EBay on a consignment basis," said Robert A. Rositano CEO of Zippi Networks. "MobileFrame's highly capable software permitted Zippi to deploy its mobile field service application in less than a month from start to finish. This is truly an amazing product."

"A very compelling part of Zippi's charter is making online selling so easy and fast that anyone can have a distinct competitive advantage to make occasional sales or gain the fulltime freedom of being an entrepreneur," said Dean J. Rositano, president and co-founder of Zippi Networks. "Only first-class tools, such as MobileFrame's Configurable Mobile Applications platform software will make our groundbreaking business model a success for Zippi and the online sellers who become a part of our network. MobileFrame is the most advanced mobile technology in the market and it will give our sellers an anywhere, anytime advantage."

Zippi Networks, Inc., arms a new generation of online sellers with the advanced tools and strategies to free themselves from shrinking profits, a dwindling number of unique items to merchandise, and inventory overhead.  www.zippi.com.

When the technician transmits the completed Repair Order back to the office invoices can be generated the same day the work is performed. This results in improved cash flow, and immediately enhances the company's bottom line. The parts used on the job are automatically removed from the service van's inventory and logged so the parts inventory can be restocked.

Danson Seed Company automates data collection for commercial field trials, plant breeding, laboratory procedures and market research

April 6, 2006 - Danson Seed has selected MobileFrame to automate their field data collection and wirelessly transmit this data directly into a relational database located in Danson's central office. This capability provides Danson Seed with a significant competitive advantage over its competitors in the seed industry.

"We are very excited about MobileFrame's flexibility and ease of use, "said Michael Nadel, Danson Seed's President. “MobileFrame's software is a terrific match for the seed industry.”

“Prior to installing MobileFrame our back-office enterprise software did not have an embedded field data gathering capability. We just used Microsoft Office Suite and paper notes from field evaluations.”

“The integration of MobileFrame into our field data collecting process enabled us to achieve a substantial increase in productivity. Research and development based seed companies rely more upon people with technical skills than upon mechanization. MobileFrame has allowed us to reap significant gains by inputting data from commercial field trials, plant breeding, and laboratory experiments.”

“In addition, we can now automate both our inventory control and sales activities gathering market research data, including data about our grower clients at field days and expositions. All of this added functionality will greatly assist our personnel in performing their assigned tasks in a more organized and efficient manner.”

Danson Seed Company Inc. is a family owned research and development vegetable seed company with over 90 years of experience devoted to breeding a wide range of vegetable and agronomic crops. Danson Seed uses traditional breeding technology to develop innovative new varieties of tomatoes, peppers, squash, and sweet corn.
